Jeff Sites will be the keynote speaker at the Huron County Democratic Party's annual Democracy Dinner. The banquet takes place on Thursday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Milestone Event Center, 11 South Prospect Ave., Norwalk.

Sites is running for Congress in the Fourth District and hopes to face Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) in next year's general election.

Sites is an Army veteran, who had served as a military policeman. He is now a warehouse manager for a food manufacturer, and says he has "spent more time driving a forklift than wearing a suit."

As to why he decided to run, Sites said, "I'm tired of billionaires and big corporations getting handouts while families like mine get left behind. And I’m doing something about it."

Also, Sites said he aims to hold Jordan and the others involved accountable for attacking our democracy.

Sites said he hopes to "bring the perspective of a regular Ohio working man to Washington."

The event is a fund-raiser for the local party. Dinner tickets are by a donation of any amount. Attendees should make checks payable to Huron County Democratic Party, c/o Chris Raftery, Treasurer, 85 North Street, Monroeville, OH 44847; or donate online at hurondems.org/donate; or pay at the door (with a reservation).
